Please bear w me - not nearly as knowledgeable as most of you.
Just moved to a rural area and chose Earthlink over AOL --only choices.
But...Earthlink won't connect
with my 180e PowerTower w a 33.6 Global Village Silver modem. Instead I
get a message stating I'm
connected at "an unknown rate" and there is no further connection. I
supposedly have a "dirty" line (?) yet I have no problem whatsoever
connecting fully with AOL! Earthlink tech people say to get another
modem script(?) but I went to Global V. site and couldn't find what I
needed- as if I know.
I do have a newer G3 Powerbook and it connects just fine (56k modem). Is
the answer to switch to a 56? Where would I get one? Thanks in advance
