Why? Why not just boot from the drive you want to update? Is this just for
speed or is there a more nefarious reason to do this?

OK. I've downloaded it. Looks a little daunting but I've backed everything
up. Would you also recommend the beige G3 for me?

Again, why? Why not just install 9.2.1 over your "dirty" 9.1? Is it because
your dirty 9.1 might be missing files that will be included in the clean 9.1
due to the clean installer thinking you have a beige G3?

Lost me again. You suspect the beige G3 suitcase won't work on your
computer? If anything, I might have suspected that LOTS of files wouldn't
work? What's so special about changing this one file?

Umhmmm. I presume you restored your Mach ID first? I presume it doesn't
matter which you do first, restore the Mach ID or replace the suitcase?
