OS 9.1? In my case nearly everything (major S/W) had to be upgraded. But
when the problems were worked out ... It's the best Mac OS ever. The "F"
keys for Launching apps feature is a real time saver.
As to OS X, I'm a cynical @#$!; so I'd get a back up machine, net worked
to do useful work in the interim (while you adjust to a very different
OS). I go back to System 6.0. Those old enough to remember the Manual
Bookkeeping to Computer transition will recall: The smart folks ran
parallel systems until all the snags were worked out and the computer
books and inventory had run relatively crash free for three months.
As one very computer dubious, crusty, older Texas Millionaire once told
me. " I'll put my inventory on computer; Random recounts will warn of
problems. But, I'll be dammed if I'm going to put my money on it. One
decimal point mistake could cost me some money. Two place mistakes could
nearly bankrupt the company. Three places and we're out of business."
