Later model PCP's and PTP's had theTeac 516s CDROM player, which is fast
and reliable.
Any CDROM from Apple computers will also work, as long as they are SCSI
(although the PowerBase may use an IDE if the HD is SCSI

You might also look out for a faster cpu from a PowerComputing machine (not
from apple machines , however)
You will notice a real pick up if you can find a cheapo 604e  225 mhz cpu
from a PowerTowerPro, which pop up regularly on eBay under $25.
