After reading the archives on replacing cooling fans. I took the plunge
on my PowerTowerPro. The results are phenomenal. After years of
listening to the 747 engines running. I can hear the silence. A very
worth while upgrade. As others had recommended I used the PowerOn 80 mm
 "Silencer" fans. (http://www.power-on.com)

The project was very straight forward as described in the archives. It
requires a little soldering, as you need to use the original
PowerComputing connectors on the fans, but other than that it's a very
doable project. At $10.00 each for the fans, it's a really dramatic
improvement for little cost. The new "Silencer" series fans actually
move more air for less power consumption than the OEM Nidec fans.

I would recommend it to anyone bothered by the noise of the
PowerTowerPro series.
