I checked the voltage of the battery (out of the
circuit) with a simple DVM & it read 3.57 volts. That
does seem a bit suspect... but since I don't have a 
real" battery tester and before I start sticking my
meter where it doesn't belong...

Is is best to test the battery "in circuit" ei, while 
A) the computer's running? OR
B) while it's just plugged in & not on. OR
C) with the computer unplugged?
