What newer HD did you put in? I'm looking for a 30-40g HD as a 2ndary HD, in conjunction with the stock 1.2G Seagate. Is a 5400rpm drive sufficient? (i.e., a 7200 rpm drive has no benefit). I recently got a WD 80g JB (8mb cache) for my PowerMac 8500 -- the thing is really speedy & boots just rip. They go for $100 (after rebate), like at Fry's & other places.
