Hi Robert, I bought one and have not been able to use it. I quote from Sonnett:
"You have one of those 3-5% of PTP machines that doesn't want to boot from our processor. This has been a know problem for awhile and I was hoping the new G4/800 fixed this problem but apparently it hasn't so I am going to issue you a RMA# for credit. As it turns out, the senior designed who was responsible for the G4/800 just got one of these cranky PTP machines into his labe so he's going to spend some time to see what he can do to fix this problem. (10 Sep 2002). On 26 Oct - "We have that cranky PTP here in house but as yet, the engineers haven't had a chance to look at it. Appartently we'll be shipping the machine to our Atlanta office for the engineer to look at it. I have no idea how long our engineer will take to solve this issue. He's a genius so I'm hoping for no time at all but you never know with this engineering stuff." They are most willing to refund my money but I bought my PTP with the intention of upgrading with this card and so I want the card to work, not my money back. I am still waiting for the engineer to "fix" this problem. I hope I don't wait in vain. --Carl Sheperd [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: >I am still using my 604e PTP250 with 512MB of RAM running OS 9.1. In order >to better use Photoshop and other graphics programs I have considered >upgrading to a 17 inch G4 iMac or a I-GHz dual G4 Mac, but these are quite >expensive.
