Does the perfect mouse (and pad) exist? I always liked the ergonomics of the Power Computing ADB mouse. But I wanted an optical mouse (no rubber ball to get rollers dirty), so I picked up a Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical. Which was nice (and cheap).
That got me addicted to two features: The scroll wheel (for scrolling up and down through documents, email messages and web pages) and a right button (which I set to function as a "Back" key, for backing up to a previous web page, a feature to which I quickly became addicted). More recently I picked up a cheap Logitech First Mouse Wheel, which is non-optical, but has a scroll wheel and a right button, and has a very nice ergonomic feel. But again, it's non-optical -- and the Logitech driver doesn't provide a right-button "Back" feature, which become a "must" for me).
