I just have to weigh in on this thread too. I got a Logitech TrackMan Marble in a box of miscellaneous junk a couple years ago, and tried it for laughs. Well, to my amazement, I liked it so much that I have become a right-handed mouser (I am very much a lefty for everything else.) This device has been on last legs forever-sometimes the buttons stick-but the newer models have a much higher arch, which hurts my hand- The newer more egometric design NOT, for me anyway. What it lacks is a scroll wheel...not invented yet when this baby came out, I guess.
On my PC, I use a Microsoft Trackball Optical, which is the closest I can find comfort-wise to this first generation TrackMan Marble. Similar ergonomics, 4 buttons and a wheel, but no Mac software, I believe. Too bad, it is a really comfortable solution...it could replace that old Marble if it were compatible.
