It's hard to believe ram is so cheap now. In 1986, my 4 1mb chips for the plus upgrade cost $800. I have 1GB in both my PTP and eMac and 512 MB in my PCP's.

Success!!! Wow... is the Mac community ever wonderful. With suggestions from the list and from some suggestions received directly the intstall went very well but I HAD to use the OS 9 helper from http://www.os9forever.com/ It's wonderful that others "share" in this way.
I had 9.0 installed. Downloaded all three updates from Apple but applied 9.1 Update directly. No problem, except I only have 48 Mb of RAM at the moment (ordered more today) and the poor ol' girl barely booted. Had to turn on virtual memory to 128Mb because my old faithful RamDoubler didn't want to work anymore with 9.1
I can hardly wait for my memory upgrade to arrive... ahhh... my computer memory upgrade that is!
