Hi Robert,

You have had problems with some upgrade cards? I have looked at the Sonnet
site. There are also several processors on eBay. What should I be looking
for in a G3 card? a G4 card?
Will it be necessary to buy a daughter card? or do I use the existing
daughter card and add a processor?

So, if I'm not going to go to OS X should I buy a G3 upgrade? Will a G4 be a
better upgrade if I'm staying with 8.6 or 9.1?

I use a NAT router and have so far not needed a software firewall on any of
my systems. I had some bad experiences with Norton and McAfee background
tools and removed them from all my systems. Not sure how it goes on a mac.
The other programs are disk utilities?

I have seen several SCSI drives on eBay. I just purchased a box lot of Mac
stuff that included some disks and some memory along with a buch of other
stuff for $10 +s/h. I'll wait until I see what's in it before I decide on
what drive to buy. Thanks for the lead at Surplus Computers. I also bought
two sticks of 128meg off eBay today. When that box lot shows up I'll figure
out what i can use. I will try to go all the way up to 1gig of RAM. But for
now I know I'll have a good 272megs to work with.

I'll download that stuffit compression utility also. That should help me get
that ping utility installed.

Thanks for the welcome,
Sean
