Okay, you forgot to mention a couple things. You are running osX.??? on PTP G3 with XpostFacto? What version of toast is your 'old' toast? AFAIK, if your external scsi drives are working, your burner should as well (in9). Most X apps do not even attempt to locate scsi devices. The X version of Toast will usually not find it either. Try Dragon Burn for X ( http://www.ntius.com ). I have a B&W G3-300 with an Advansys SCSI card (from an old umax scanner, works in a pc as well, asc3030 chipset) and Neither TOAST nor DRAGON will find any scsi devices to burn to when I hook up an external scsi burner. However, I have Toast 6 on an old 7500 g4-700 with X.3.6 with an internal SCSI Yamaha 8x4x16 cdrw drive and it burns fine. Back in the days of nine, you would just power up a drive when you needed it and use a scsi utility to mount the drive if necessary and it worked fine. NOT in X. If your drive is not powered on before you boot the machine, you will need to reboot with the power on for it to be recognized. Try that option: is your external scsi powered up before you boot the machine in X?

For your other question about ATA133 card and a DVD drive, YES. X version of toast or dragon will burn to it no problem. 'Disk utility' backup will work fine as well.

You could also try the apple SCSI dev list [EMAIL PROTECTED] for any scsi utilities.

Hi all

So, are there any SCSI utilities available for OS X? Is there any way for me to tell the OS to see it as one LUN? Or do I have to buy the OS X version of Toast?

Thanks again for answering all my questions!
