I have a PowerCenter 150 that I use mainly as a backup server running Retrospect backup software. It backs up my laptop and my wife's laptop over our small network. Right now the PowerCenter is running OS 9.2.2 and Retrospect desktop 5.1. Both my wife's and my laptop are running OS 10.3.9. I would like to upgrade the Powercenter using parts off of ebay (ie., G3 processor at 400-500Mhz, ATI video card and some more RAM). My question is: Is it practical to upgrade the PowerCenter to OS X so that I can run the same OS as my laptops and therefore make backups easier? Cost is an issue because I don't want to spend lots of money on a computer that is primarily a backup server. I already have some large internal and external drives that are attached and being used as backup media. Would I be better off just buying a mac mini for backup purposes (more expensive route)?

TIA
Chris
