How about getting us up to speed again? What have you done? Have you removed the prefs file com.ctmdev.PowerMail.plist" in "~/ Library/Preferences/" and started anew without the spellchecker in use for a while? Does that help at all? If it does, only reenter anything settings and use of external apps one at a time and write up the order, so that you can analyze the situation if and when the problem reappears.
