I bought my first Palm in February, so I don't feel I have all the
adjustments made yet. I appreciate learning the way others use it so I
can have more options than what I've come up with.

I bought my PowerBook because anything that isn't in my computer just
isn't organized and I needed to be more mobile without losing
organization. However, because of physical limitations, I am not always
able to carry my PowerBook with me - this I resolved by buying my Palm.

I've always considered my email program the center of my communications.
It's the first application I access each day, and usually it is also the
last. So, reminders or tidbits often come via email and I often send
myself email. Even if I pay a bill online; I have an AppleScript that
copies the information to an email message to myself so I can easily find
the date and time later without storing in my calendar. Web info that I
need to send to my Palm, I copy to PowerMail first to get plain text,
then I use an AppleScript to create a Palm memo. (I started to use
Documents To Go, but lately it's been crashing my Palm at startup, so I
always make a copy as a memo.) Like yesterday when I went to the zoo with
friends, I copied a list of the different animals we wanted to see into a
memo. Then later we can use the list to check off which animals we still
want photos of - the list would expand to too many to do's and be a
distraction to other to do items of more timely importance.

The problem with using To Do's for many of the things I use memos for is
the way it displays on the Palm. I use To Do's for things that I need "To
Do" and see at a glance. But memos contain info that I need/want with me
but don't need to check off or see in Today, the app I use for glancing.
I bought Missing Sync in April and found it useless. The latest version
supposedly is better, but it just annoys me to spend more money upgrading
(something that was useless to begin with) in such a short time. Also,
there are more Palm applications that can import memos, but not To Do's.
So, I keep a PM folder of just the messages/info I need to send to my
Palm - when ready to sync, I collect the info with a memo-creating
AppleScript.

I also find using memos extremely useful for temporary contacts that I
don't want in my address book. It's a bother to look for a contact and
see a name or phone number that I don't even recall because I needed it
just one time. For others, it may not seem PM related, but for me it is
apropos to integrated use of PM with other applications - quite like I
was accustomed to while using Claris Emailer.
