So, about 1 out of 100 times when I hit "Send", my computer hangs for a
while, and then says "Resource not avaiable" at the smtp server. Who
knows what the problem is--the problem is rare, and always resolves
itself within 1 minute.

HOWEVER, there is an annoying bug in Powermail that hasn't been stomped
on in at least the last 2 years. When a piece of mail fails to go out for
whatever reason, it sits there in the Out Tray, marked "Waiting"--but it
really isn't pending. The mail will just sit there, and you can queue
mail and send that mail while the failed mail doesn't go out.

There are two bugs here.

First, when mail doesn't go out, Powermail shouldn't silently leave it in
the Out Tray. I suggest that if mail doesn't go out for whatever reason,
Powermail should put up a dialog saying "Mail failed to send. Queue for
retry later?" with buttons "OK" "No" and "Retry now".

Second, Powermail shouldn't mark mail in two different states--pending
and failed--with the same label: "Waiting". It is very unintuitive that
the way to get your mail to go out is to change the state from "Waiting"
to "Draft" and then from "Draft" to "Waiting". Mail that has failed to go
out should be marked as "Failed."

I have had mail sit in my outbox for days until I found it there,
"Waiting" but not going out when I hit "Send".
