The list of new features in PowerMail 5.0 includes:

I took this to mean that I can now rename and/or move files in my
Attachments folder and PowerMail 5.0 will still be able to track them
down. But when I eventually converted my old 4.2.1 database to version
5.0 today, and renamed one of my old attachment files, PM 5.0 still
showed the original filename (dimmed) in the message window.
How come?

It's not the data universe only, it's human conversation.
