This question comes up on the support forums for dot mac alot. It is pretty much simply the nature of IMAP. Although in the application Mail, for example, you can choose to have the mail cached on your computer which is not the case as far as I know with PowerMail. With PowerMail you should get all the mail on your server when you open the connection. If mail comes in after that you SHOULD be able to "Get Mail" to show these new ones, without closing the connection first. But I don't think they automatically show up without doing anything. I don't use IMAP in PowerMail, although I have tried it a couple of times, because of PM's not filtering IMAP mail. -- Barbara Needham
