I was messing with the prefs the other day, seeing how things worked, and changed the address completion priorities around from first to last and vice versa. Possibly I moved the display name around too, not sure. Anyway. I switched them back to first name, then last name again, but my address book seems to be all screwy now. Some people's display names are listed first last, and some are listed last first. I want the display name to begin with the first name. Now when I start typing 'Jack M..' in the 'to' field, I get Jacskon (last name) or some of the other people named Jack showing up. But the Jack I *want* is now listed by his last name, so I can't even retrieve his address unless I start typing with an M. Which of course I'm not used to doing because I've been addressing stuff to him for months now by 'Jack.'
But everyone in my address book has not changed... only some of them. I'm not sure why, and I can't come up with a common denominator. But I want 'em ALL the same - how do I do that without going through and changing them one by one? And while I'm thinking of it... when I control-click on someone's address to add them to my address book, it *always* lists their last name in the first name field. I always have to click on the double arrows to switch them. I'm hoping there's some simple setting to fix all of this??
