These are not TNEF encoded files (since the MIME >separator has the correct file name "foo.ppt" not winmail.dat and also >because OSX Mail can decode them). This problem is a non-starter for me >since I need to read these files for my job. Is there some configuration >that I am missing? Well, I am not sure. Look in preferences under General, Attachments, and HTML reader. Most of us keep the HTML reader turned off and used the globe item, as I see you were told already. Also I use Peferences, display, show attachments in message preview and click on the attachment from there. If this doesn't work, Attachments go in a folder, by default an attachments folder in your PowerMail files folder but can be selected to go anywhere. I've never had any problem with an attachment that had the correct extension. You may have to a. open the application and then open the attachment from the application or b. tell your Mac which file to open this particular attachment with. [that was bad grammar but hopefully you get the idea.] Also check setup, mail accounts and be sure to click the "Advanced" triangle, perhaps you have set to only partially retrieve messages over so many kilobytes. There is another setting for this under Mail Schedulings, as well. [Options] If you have set to show attachments in message preview and they are not all retrieved, the icon will be different. Click on it to get a green down pointing arrow and it will be retrieved at your next connection. -- Barbara Needham
