Just a guess, but if you usually view the strip right in the message go
to the Preferences and disable the HTML reader. Then use the little globe
button at the bottom of the message (in three-pane view or when viewing
the individual message) to open the HTML version of the e-mail in your
browser. Click and hold the button; you get a menu. PowerMail relies on
an (older) HTML rendering thingamawhatsit and some HTML mail doesn't play
nice with it (PowerMail is mainly a plain-text client, as many users will
cheerfully tell you).
