The default menu that pops up is set to: Search [in all local mail folders] for messages whose: [content] [includes all of the words] [blank for me to fill in] Sometimes I will change [in all local mail folders] to [in selected folder only]; sometimes I will change [content] to [to] or [from] or [subject]; and sometimes I will change [includes all of the words] to [includes exact phrase]. But no matter what combination I use, it always instantly finds nothing even if I am searching for something of which there are hundreds of instances. Ken
