Exactly. I have mailboxes that are updated infrequently, or not at all -
e.g. mailing list mailboxes where previous years are in separate
subfolders ("2004", "2005", "2006" etc.)

Here in the office, people who have switched from PowerMail to Apple
Mail have much smaller backups.
