We're typically 10 - 40 R/hr on contact unshielded. CRDM exchange happens
about 10 - 16 days following shutdown.

Subject: Powernet: BWR control `spud end' radiation levels
Sent by: [email protected]

I hope my BWR colleagues can help me with a question.
What are the radiation levels of a typical control rod spud end and how
many days decay between removal from the reactor and the measurement?
I am a PWR type and am working on a BWR decommissioning project.
Thanks for any help
