For Entergy Plants the Inprocessing Practical Exercise for Radiation Workers,
FPF-GET-RWT states:

A. Remove PC's in the following sequence.
1. remove outer shoe covers, heel to toe, inside out.
2. remove rubber gloves, inside out.
3. remove hard hat cover.
4. while holding the hard hat, remove the hood off the back of the head.
Place the hard hat back on head.
5. unzip the coveralls, remove the EAD from the Whirl Pak or coverall pocket
and place it back on the non-porous lanyard.
6. remove the coveralls from the shoulders and pull the arms through inside
out (keeping the outer surface away from the skin and personal clothing).
7. push the coveralls down below the knees and "step" the feet through the
coveralls inside out.

Remind students that the hard hat should never be placed on the floor, SOP,
etc. while removing PC's.

8. turn back to the step-off pad (SOP) and remove inner shoe cover. Step
clean foot back onto SOP. Repeat.
9. remove cotton glove liners.

Robinson's process for emptying ED from whirl pack into a tray at the
containment building CA exit or onto the SOP at other CA exits is the same as
Palo Verde's. However, one option being considered for the future is to have
personnel take the ED out of the whirl pack (after removing outer glove but
while still wearing cotton liner) and place on lanyard without setting ED
down/placing in tray. This method would eliminate the potential for dosimetry
to get crossed up at the CA exit point. Obviously the ED would need to be
checked (e.g. by wearing through a PCM) immediately after exiting the CA.

Palo Verde provides the following response:

At Palo Verde dosimetry (TLD and electronic dosimeter) is worn in a Whirlpak
bag while inside posted CAs. When workers undress / exit the Containment
Building CA they place their dosimetry on a tray next w/ frisker to the SOP.
For all other contaminated area exits, workers place their dosimetry on the
SOP. After area exit, workers pick up their dosimetry and go to the nearest
frisker to check for contamination. Workers either go thru a PCM (Containment
Building exit) or perform a whole body frisk. In all situations, after exiting
a contaminated area all workers are required to exit the RCA thru the PCM and
portal monitors

Quick benchmark question from Columbia:

When workers exit contaminated areas at a SOP, are they trained to place the ED
on the SOP, in the hardhat, or is it clipped directly back onto the lanyard
without setting it down. Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,
