*         At the time of TLD issuance, when performing the audible hearing 
check for EPD alarms, do you perform the check in an area where background 
noise is generated at a decibel level that would generally be encountered in 
the field?



Training provides this test in a classroom setting with a recording that volume 
is adjusted to the appropriate decibels.  Workers wear hearing protection 
during the test and the instructor questions each trainee for alarm 
recognition.  Updated training record (pass/fail) is linked to RP access 
control system controlling dosimetry usage.



*         If yes, then how is that noise level achieved in a Dosimetry office 
environment?
