North Anna's reply: At the time of TLD issuance, we perform a audible hearing check with a DAD tester with the worker wearing hearing protection. We do not have a method to achieve the noise level encountered in the field.
As a side note, all of our EDs are issued with an alternate alarming device. This devices boosts the audible alarm to 85 decibels and has an installed vibration device. This increases the worker's chances of hearing and feeling an ED alarm. Barbara J. Any information on your process would be most appreciated.
