I have given this a lot of thought myself. I can assure you that I
don't work for Apple or Freescale and certainly not Genesi. The truth
is that the mac mini is a nice looking little unit but I defy you to
form a relationship with Apple in which you outright tell them that
you want to run OpenSolaris on it and will you please give us
technical support and help us with the driver issues etc etc.

Good luck.

The people at Genesi are just simply a lot nicer to deal with and they
are more than happy to hand over technical docs on everything that
they have. Also, the Freescale PowerPC has a really insanely
out-of-control large embedded market ( that was my Hitch Hikers Guide
thing there ) and the ODW unit may be $100 more expensive but it is
way easier to pop open the case and install what ever you want. Like
say a QLogic fibre controller or whatever. It has a pile of PCI slots
along with a really nice ATI Radeon graphics card.

At this point the people working on the Blastware project have wrung
out a pile of details on this and we decided that the Genesi ODW was
the best way to go for a pile of reasons.

There is a mailing list also that you can join.
