definitely. Well, not too much, since not many programs use a 
[$progname][$pid] tag, but even just missing the pids on many of the daemon
logs might still hurt you during debugging.

I will change powersaved, so it uses the more "standard" log tagging scheme
$progname[$pid], so you should also at least get _something_ in the logs with
metalog :-)

Well, even slow upstream might accept fixes for such rather "critical" bugs.
I am using syslog-ng and am quite happy with it, so i cannot comment on 
metalog :-)
