Kalau kita sering pulang kampung, bung, tak perlu kita tergantung rak2 buku di AS dan Eropa. Saya memang hobby sejarah, dari masa SMA (lulus tahun 1963), dan saya teruskan di universitas. Di LN saya lihat, terutama di Belanda, lebih banyak pustaka mengenai kebudayaan kita daripada di Indonesia. Di Museum Gutenberg di jerman ada lontar dengan tulisan asli Batak dari ratusan tahun yang silam, tak ada lagi dimanapun. Kalau anda mau buat dissertasi mengenai sejarah Tanah Air, dari Pra Sejarah sampai sejarah mnodern, jangan lupa meninjau ke perpustakaan di Belanda. Anda tak percaya? Karena saya dahulu di Tanah Air tahun 60an anggauta PMKRI, banyak teman2 saya dari Indonesia timur. Saya cukup mendapat penjelasan mengenai Thomas Matulessy.
