Re: commits. I think the new UI is all-in-one. No parts, no nothing! So whatever works for you - whether to squash to one commit or leave or squash some and not others. With the git viewer (Eclipse, or GH tools),it is quite easy to navigate changes on one file even of part of larger commit.
