I bought my 3GHz lapper 19 months ago. It's been running fairly
trouble-free 24/7 all that time.
I went to a department store and got a wire-frame device that you put
cookies on to cool, after they come out of the oven. So there's almost 2
inches of open space under the machine.

A couple of months ago I posted that I was looking at a new machine,

from AMD, all other things being equal.
Well, to make a long story short, it made more sense for me to buy a
"desktop replacement" notebook machine instead of another desktop
machine. A Toshiba Satellite A75-S213 to be specific.
Does anyone here run Prime95 all the time when their notebook is
plugged in? Any issues other than make sure there is plenty of air
circulation?
