Hi Quentin and welcome to the list, naughty though lurking is.On the insurance issue, I too can recommend Glover & Howe. I have been with them for quite a few years (10+) and have always found them very helpful,
How have you gone on with insurance since you are now not resident in UK? I'm now in China and don't know for how long. Found it extremely hard to get cover because of not having a property in UK. Eventually arranged with Anchorman Insurance Consultants but very expensive and high excess. Same goes for long-term insurance like travel insurance.
Would appreciate more info on how you've arranged it with Glover and Howe.
With regard to cleaning notebook screens, I too would appreciate ideas. The technician at Apple in Beijing uses a normal paper tissue and distilled water and demonstrated how effective it is, while I cringed on the edge of my seat whilst checking my insurance policy. But I would hate to use that on my Vaio laptop screen, which seems to have a different surface. Any ideas anyone? Do normal CRT screen cleaners work safely with TFT screens? I seem to recall being told to avoid them.
Cheers,
David
