Paul, I assume it works like my 1D. Hold the "QUALITY" button located below the LCD picture-viewing screen and rotate the big dial on the back with your thumb until the word "RAW" appears. You will now write raw files to the card. FYI, to write both raw and jpg files for each picture, there should be a menu item to select which jpg size and compression when storing raw files.
