I forgot to mention that I had also originally forgotten to change the focus
mode from "C" to "S" where it will hold focus if you hold down the button.
Boy, that resulted in a lot of out-of-focus shots right there.

And at the risk of sounding like "me too" I too am a reformed
complainer. I found the main reason for my early sharpness problems
was the complexity of the camera (this is the first autofocus camera
I've ever owned), the fact that I usually selected the wrong
permutation of modes, and the fact that the Dynamic Autofocus mode is
rubbish anyway.

In locked off tests it performs very accurately, and in everyday use
it produces images almost as good as my Sinarback in one shot mode.
And of course it can go anywhere without the hassles of a Sinarback.
