So did you get it sorted Jonathan & if so was it the camera or the
camera/lens combo?

The other drawback with the S2 (D100, D60 ...) as far as I can see is the
image magnification needed.  Great if you shoot sport but I don't & I do
shoot a lot on 35mm at 24mm - requiring a 14/15/16mm on the dig. body.  This
length of lens is very difficult to make and never stands up optically to
the wides in the 20mm+ range.

For some work I could live with that but I do want the option to put my
lenses in front of film - why? 1) for client choice, as previously posted;
2) I don't plan to carry a second dig. camera as backup and having once had
3 pro Nikons fail in freezing conditions only to be saved by having an all
mechanical body in the bag, I carry an auto-nothing as backup.  None of the
current crop of ultra wides avoids vignetting when used wide open in a
full-frame camera.

So what do you do when you want to shoot wide & wide open?
