Surely a simple (relatively) answer to all these woes would be to buy either
a iBook or a Sony Vaio (one of the really small ones). The iBook 12" is
pretty damn small and built pretty toughly. I wouldn't personally use it as
a full-time machine (though I know plenty of people do) But I would
certainly consider lugging it around as a large hard drive. It also woould
have the advantage of being able to edit some of the pics on the way and
check them etc. At their current price (just dropped another couple of
hundred) they are surely a bargain.

PS Yes I know their not as small as an iPod. But this possibility simply
doesn't seem to exist to a satisfactory level yet. It no doubt will one day.

PPS Did you know that you can pick up a 1Gb IBM Microdrive for �144 now!
Amazing, since other people still want �260 for them (and their the cheap
places). Why not just buy a pack of them?
