Remember, it's "effective pixels" that are being sold here, which is a bit
like "digital zoom." It's what you sell when you don't have the real thing.
Fuji simply implies that their honeycomb strategy "effectiv-izes" up to 6MP
(we'll have none of the nasty "I" word here) better than others' more
straightforward "window screen" format.

Here's a marketing ploy. Why doesn't Kodak, for instance, breath new life
into the DCS760 and come out with an "improved" model DCS765 by simply
bumping the default output to 125% and advertising it as an "effective 9MP"
camera? Thus placing it in a market segment that matches its price.
