Quite so, and my misunderstanding of Fuji's use of the term "effective" this time around. With the S1, effective referred to the interpolated output as opposed to actual pixels, and so still does with Nikon in their D1X, also. Now, I guess the interpolated output is termed the "Final output." Or something similarly vague. Kind of puts them in an odd position, not unlike the monitor manufacturers trying to tell us that a 17" LCD is "just as big" as a 19" CRT, without actually admitting that they've been selling us 17" CRTs all along. > The pixels on the edges of the CCD (or presumably CMOS?)...
