Shangara,
Not certain on the D100, but suspect like the others, you have to
convert RAW to TIFF. There are however huge advantages to shooting RAW;
depending on camera brand, typically you have exposure compensation,
colour correction, levels, output size, sharpening and much more that
can be determined in a lossless fashion before committing to a TIFF
file. With he imminent arrival of the Adobe Plug-In and Capture one
already available, this previously painful process is becoming much more
streamlined.
