I have piles of OLD Macs running my various web server functions. My first imaging computer, a '93 Centris 610 serves as my Domain Name Server. It was last re-booted in June. It just happily hums along telling the world which IP address to look at to find my domain. A 6100 is my mail server. I bought a pallet full of working 7200s off of eBay for less than $200 total. Those are doing various chores such as web, ftp or Retrospect backup servers. There's loads of life left in those old slow Macs. Just don't try to make them run Photoshop 7 and edit 200MB files. They'll do it, but you can go out for lunch between each mouse click.
