Hi Bob, Have you tried resetting the PRAM as you boot up? My recent problems on the PowerBook could be temporarily solved by this (it actually needed a new main logic board, but when it refused to start resetting the PRAM would get it started). And the Apple guy told me I should do it several times to be sure.
