What you could do is take a grey card with you. The shoot the first
frame in the light with the white  side up and then they grey side up,
spot metering off the card (assuming you are using 35mm here). Then when
you scan the negs in (again assuming you are using neg scanner and maybe
vuescan), use the shite card and or gey card to get a natural balance
for that setting and then save and scan the rest the same way.

You could of course import the 16bit files into photoshop and then use
the set white and mid tone clickers in levels/curves to get rid of any
colour cast.
