Hi David,

I can answer the first part. I am in the process of upgrading equipment (new
G4/screen/printer etc) The company I was speaking to strongly recommended
RIP software to accompany a 2100 and a 1270 printer on the basis it would
provide more accurate colours and sharper images from my pictures. (They
recommended Bestware designer RIP)
I knew you guys in Prodig land would probably have more knowledge of the
advantages/need for this than I would hence my posting.
I only really use Photoshop although do have Illustrator on my machine as
well. 
It seems I really have no need for RIP whatsoever unless there is some other
advantage of using it with Illustrator.
