Dear ProDig,
I know this has been discussed before but some of it went over my head as I
wasn't ready for the information. I can't make up my mind whether to go for
Lysonic Quad Black Neutral Tone inks or Small Gamut inks.
The SG inks set seems to give greater choice and it "avoids the greyscale
non-linearity - reddish highlights with greenish midtones and off-colour
shadows, for example - that plagues black and white" at the same time giving
you the option of "an almost limitless range of monochrome effects," should
you need them.
At the moment, I only foresee myself printing "pure" black and white. Just
wondering if both inks provide the same "neutral" prints or does one provide
better or greater tonal range than the other, all things being equal?
The above assumes I'm printing on a profiled printer or a "lucky dip"
printer ;-)
Also, any opinions on: Lyson Professional Monochrome Photo Gloss: 265 gsm
resin based photographic inkjet paper. Has a stronger, more glossy emulsion,
which produces a stunning gloss print to rival the best darkroom produced
RCphotograph. Up to 2880dpi
TIA.
