Hi David

Look at a print and at what you used to accept from your pro lab. You
may be surprised. For the highlights some times adding a little noise
helps (threshold selection or layer mask). I have rescued blown out
wedding dresses by carefully pasting in sections from correctly exposed
pictures and cloning but making it look natural can be very difficult
and take far too long. Adding a little noise some times blurred slightly
can be just enough and is quick.

Good luck

Paul Lawrence
