Sorry to bring up the subject of monitors...yes I know it's boring!

I have been considering dipping my toe in the water as regards to an LCD screen, initially for the office computer as a try-out but to also evaluate it for editing if it proves satisfactory.

One of my main considerations would be having the ability to make it look like the CRT screens here which are all calibrated with Optical and a DTP 92. The 20" Eizo FlexScan L985ex looks to be a suitable candidate as it seems to have loads of controls!

Ideally the screen should be able to work with a Mac or a PC. Am I correct in thinking that the Mac LCD displays will only work on a Mac and only have a 1yr warrantee? If so does this have to be a very recent Mac or would it work on a G4 400?

Finally dead pixels. I am aware that manufacturers expect one to accept monitors even if supplied with some dead pixels.....any thoughts on this issue?

All advice most welcome.

Cheers

Richard
