If you'd partitioned your hard drive you'd know it! Its an option you have in Apple's Drive Setup when you install a new drive.
Assuming that you haven't done so, don't try to do it now, because the act of partitioning it will wipe it clean!
In order to do it now, you would need to back up everything first. Its probably simpler to just buy an additional drive and to install and partition that. They are fairly inexpensive right now, and very easy to install internally. Alternatively you can get a cased version that connects via USB, FireWire or SCSI (depending on your machine).
This would then give you a fresh, clean scratch disk for PS to play in.
Apple list an update from 9.1 to 9.2.1 on their download page: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120024&SaveKCWindowURL=http%3A%2F%2Fkbase.info.apple.com%2Fcgi-bin%2FWebObjects%2Fkbase.woa%2Fwa%2FSaveKCToHomePage&searchMode=Expert&kbhost=kbase.info.apple.com&showButton=false&randomValue=100&showSurvey=false&sessionID=anonymous|165918281
After you have that you can then get the update to 9.2.2 (meant to be a little more stable. Its the version that came with OS X Jaguar 10.2.3)

Clive
