As far as I was aware, plugging a USB2 device into a 'normal' USB computer just results in the USB2 device dropping down to the speed of the USB on the computer. At least this is how it works on a PC, don't know if there is a particular issue with Macs. Your post wasn't clear. Have you actually connected a USB2 device to your Mac and are having problems, or was it just advance info you were after?
